Would two cartons of tomato sauce (and a 12oz paste) need to be made into pasta sauce before adding to the base mixture? Or can the base mixture be the spice base for making the tomato sauce into pasta sauce? How long do you think that would all need to steep in the slow cooker before it's ready to make the Baked Ziti?

Also… does the sauce freeze well? It's a really big batch for my little family.
