You wrote about my country and my state. And, while some of your arguments have merit, they do not represent the nuanced realities America and North Carolina are dealing with. Robinson is a madman who only remains on the ballot because he refused to step aside in time for anyone else to take his place.

I can tell you that I see hopeful signs here in my rural farming community in North Carolina. In an area that should be raving Trump-country, there are no signs or flags or promotional crap in people's yards or on their trucks. You don't see MAGA hats or other wearable merchandise around here.

It's true that all that stuff was evident in 2016, and even into 2020. But, it started disappearing during the Pandemic. After the Jan 6th Insurrection, it all disappeared. And, it has not returned.

During Trump's reign, you couldn't go to the grocery, McDonald's, or to Walmart without seeing people with guns on their hips — sometimes with AR-15s slung over their shoulders. I've barely seen a gun on anyone's hip in the past three years — and there's been no one with an assault rifle in the stores in the same period.

That's not to say the election isn't still close. But, that's because of the Electoral College, not because of voting citizens. The MAGA GOP has the Electoral College so gerrymandered in their states that it will take a massive turnout of democratic leaning voters to overwhelm it. Plus, those same GOP held states have pushed MAGAs into the election oversight of their states', promising to hold up certifications.

Honestly, I'm not worried about enough voters choosing Kamala for POTUS or Stein for NC governor. The threat is the minority-rule MAGA GOP throwing a wrench into the works.
